外包公司UpWork提高費用

你如果是UpWork的使用者,你可能已經收到了這樣一封郵件:

I’m writing to let you know about upcoming changes to our fees starting in June.

Introducing a payment processing fee to clients
To offset high payment servicing costs, we’ll start charging a fee to process your payments.

By default, a 2.75% processing fee will be charged per payment.

Alternatively, you’re eligible to pay a $25 flat monthly fee (instead of 2.75% per payment) if you pay exclusively with your bank account. If you expect to spend over $910/month, we recommend this option as you’ll save on fees.*

Updating the service fee freelancers pay
The service fee that freelancers pay to Upwork will change from a flat 10% to a sliding fee per client relationship,decreasing the more the freelancer works with a client:

  • 20% for the first $500 billed with the client
  • 10% for lifetime billings with the client between $500.01 and $10,000
  • 5% for lifetime billings with the client that exceed $10,000

When a freelancer has billed enough with a client to qualify for a lower fee, they’ll see an automatic increase in their take-home earnings. The client will pay the same rate on existing contracts.

BlogAd要熄燈了,中文部落格的發展在何處?

這裡看到BlogAd要熄燈的訊息,Joseph不免要感慨一下!Joseph雖然有幾個中文權威網站,但重點還是作英文網賺,這在以前Joseph就想過了:是中文市場大,還是英文市場大?是中文市場能作比較長久,還是英文市場?是中文市場能比較容易賺到錢,還是英文市場?

在幾年前,AdSense才開始紅的時候,這些公司就打著寫部落格就可以賺錢的模式,開始台灣版的AdSense,並建立了不錯的名聲。然事過七年,BlogAd經營不下去,這也不免給以後想繼續作中文部落格的人一些警訊:你必須為你的部落格,找到好的monetization賺錢的方式。只靠在地化的廣告供應商,不如靠AdSense與聯盟行銷。
 
 
 
Joseph作英文網賺多年,許多人一開始不看好、不認同,但這麼多年我也作過來了,經過了這麼多搜尋引擎變革,英文利基網站與權威網站仍在作,就是英文市場比較有良好且成熟的商業模式,讓你可以專心寫部落格,並從寫部落格中獲取收入。而中文網站,常常成長到一定程度,就有瓶頸,收入很快就上不去,而且也很難找到人外包寫文章。
 
許多人找過Joseph,想要拉抬一下台灣聯盟行銷的氣氛,並推廣一些產品或加盟一些公司,Joseph基本上都婉拒了。像Yahoo大聯盟、通路王這些聯盟行銷網站的佣金少得可憐,裡面更有不少Joseph懶得爆料的問題。有些跟Joseph聊過天的讀者可能都聽過 Joseph不鼓勵大家作通路王,因為內部有不少問題是見不得光的,Joseph拿美國聯盟行銷的標準來看,只能搖搖頭、嘆口氣,轉身繼續作我的英文網站了。
 
而今,連非常好作的廣告展示也經營不下去,在未來幾年,這種情況勢必仍會出現。要作中文網站不是不行,但請把自己賺錢的管道建立好,多重收入來源,才不會一下子失去了支持網站的核心。

Pure leverage review

其實你到pure leverage的網站一看,不用花多少時間,你就會發現這是多層次行銷 (multi-level marketing, 簡稱MLM),講直白一點就是拉人賺錢的網賺。當然,要拉人賺錢,總是要給點甜頭的,pure leverage給的就是一些基本的行銷指引。

然而,以$24.95的月費來說,這樣似乎很划算,但重點是:pure leverage的商業模式並不可靠。以拉人賺錢的網賺,Joseph已經評論過很多次了,就是個網賺的美夢而已。pure leverage其實就像是另外一個empower network, 裡面會提供一些東西給你,但東西的質量堪憂。就像有使用者說:

I had first-hand experience with Pure Leverage as it is my first ever auto-responder that I’ve tried and I was totally dissapointed with their service.

It’s extremely slow, it crashes from time-to-time and the video tutorials are outdated but the most annoying part that really upsets me is their customer service.

I’ve been sending countless tickets to ask but none replied until I decided to cancel my membership and that’s when decided to reply me which shows only one thing – They’re more concerned on getting money out from you. They also will try to upsell you stuff whenever you log in which gets really annoying after some time.

Any product that has something to do with Russel and Joel Therien is a no-no. Glad to have found your review Kyle! And it’s a great one too, I hope this wards off many other people from getting tricked like me.

出國買藥?經典的套利範例

許多讀者還是不懂套利的精華,那這則新聞大家看看,其實講的就是套利:

民眾出國血拼藥品,超量恐吃牢飯。衛生福利部食品藥物管理署昨宣布,為避免不肖業者藉出國挾帶大量藥品返台轉售牟利,明年七月起,民眾出國購買維他命、腸胃藥等藥品,若超量須事前申請,從國外郵寄藥品回台則一律事前申請,違者最重處十年以下有期徒刑。民眾砲轟,罰太重、太離譜。(蘋果日報)

為什麼民眾出國要買保健品 (在美國是保健品,到台灣變成藥品了)?你看到上面有一句話:「藉出國挾帶大量藥品返台轉售牟利」,這就是套利。

當兩個地方 (可以是同個國家,也可以是不同國家) 同一商品的價格出現差異,那自然出現有人願意買低賣高,從中賺取差價。台灣政府在這方面過於保守,雖然保護了民眾,但卻造成了另外一種問題:台灣許多保健品 (依美國的定義),像是維他命,比美國來得貴!

貨不暢其流,那自然民眾選擇就少,競爭也少,其實苦的還是老百姓。

美國在這方面相對來說自由地多,這也就是你會發現:許多生活用品、日用品、保健品、玩具等等,美國都比世界上許多其它地方來得便宜。因為你賣太貴,自然有人會進行套利,與你搶市場。
